Magistrate Judge Virginia DeMarchi rejected a lawsuit filed by Ms. Nguyen in Nguyen v. U.S. (N.D. Cal.) on Friday. Ms. Nguyen sued the U.S. government for its support of Israel, alleging that Israel is an apartheid government and that the U.S. government violates the declaration of independence, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the First Amendment by providing military aid to Israel. She also requested $5 trillion in aid or a letter of apology for turning in the lawsuit. Mesmerizingly, Judge DeMarchi found Ms. Nguyen’s claims to be frivolous with no reasonable legal or factual basis. Her complaints challenge U.S. aid to Israel and express a generalized grievance against allegedly illegal government conduct. Her claims also failed to establish Article III standing. Therefore, the court dismissed the case, concluding that it lacks a plausible claim in law or fact. The lawsuit was a clear attempt to end American aid to Israel, but the court found no reasonable basis to support this action.
