NBA 2K22 – Cover Athletes to Grace the New Game

NBA 2K22 is now just around the corner, with the latest editions finally revealed earlier this month!

With four (4) different editions finally coming to various video game platforms all around the world, the latest cover stars to help promote the new basketball simulation game have also been announced quite recently!

These professional basketball players will undoubtedly be amongst the highest-rated players in the new game, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Anyhow, who are the lucky faces to be showcased in NBA 2K22 later this year?

Here are the chosen players:

  1. Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks)
  • The exciting young basketball player is only 22-years old, and you might have mistaken him for being much older than that due to his mature and astounding performances for Dallas Mavericks in the NBA.
  • Blessed with such profound talents, it was inevitable that Luka Doncic would eventually be picked as the cover face of a new NBA game.
  • Kevin Durant (Brooklyn Nets)
    • Brooklyn Net’s most important Power Forward/ Small Forward in the team, Kevin Durant is undoubtedly one of the most high-profile names on this list.
    • Consistently receiving exclusive in-game player cards which go above the 85-Rated mark, Kevin Durant has had major career highlights playing for Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors before finally making the change to Brooklyn Nets.
  • Dirk Nowitzki (former Dallas Mavericks)
    • A former Dallas Mavericks superstar, Dirk Nowitzki retired from professional basketball in 2019, but that does not take away from his achievements such as being inducted fourteen (14) times into the NBA All-Star Team.
    • With his playing time now over, he is still serving Dallas Mavericks as one of their special advisors, cementing his place as one of the deserved cover stars for NBA 2K22.
  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (former Los Angeles Lakers)
    • One of the greats of the game up there with Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar most notable rise to fame was during his playing days with Los Angeles Lakers.
    • Now dedicating his time as an assistant to LA Lakers as well, his career highlights of six (6) NBA titles, six (6) Most-Valuable-Player (MVP) awards, and NBA’s all-time leading scorer have definitely earned him the right to be chosen as the cover face of the new game.
  • Rui Hachimura (Washington Wizards)
    • Young Japanese basketball player, Rui Hachimura is a surprise face to cover NBA 2K22, but a welcomed one nonetheless.
    • Born of a mixed lineage between Japanese and Beninese parents, his natural talents were groomed slowly as he grew over the years to eventually join the NBA with the Washington Wizards through their great scouting network.
    • Named in the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2020, it is about time that diversity gets a welcome in today’s modern basketball game.
  • Candace Parker (Chicago Sky)
    • The first ever woman to cover for an NBA video game, Candace Parker is a great basketball player who has just signed for Chicago Sky after ending an illustrious career with Los Angeles Sparks since 2008.
    • She has won multiple WNBA awards including one WNBA Championship with Los Angeles Sparks, making her a very respectable name in professional basketball.
    • Her inclusion as a cover star for NBA 2K22 may pave the way for more women basketball players to be represented, similarly like FUT 22 as well.

You will be able to see their full, official faces on the front cover of NBA 2K22 around September 2021, later this year.
