We are glad to present the latest installment of Short Circuit, a weekly article written by a team of people from the Institute for Justice. This edition includes new episodes of the Bound By Oath podcast, discussing historical property rights cases and the attempt to wipe out San Francisco’s Chinatown. There are also updates on various court cases, including the dispute between the infamous wedding-dress designer, Hayley Paige Gutman, and her former employer, JLM Couture. Additionally, several legal cases related to property law, gun ownership, and criminal sentencing are discussed. Moreover, there is a comprehensive overview of several appellate court decisions related to state and federal laws. Finally, we highlight a recent Supreme Court hearing concerning a case involving a Texas farmer whose farm was flooded by the state, and the ongoing legal battle over the compensation for the damages.
